Nadler co-founded the House Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Equality Caucus. He authored two Congressional amicus briefs in the Supreme Court cases Obergefell v. Hodges and United States v. Windsor. Nadler is also a member of the House Pro-Choice Caucus, the Congressional Arts Caucus, and the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

Jerrold Nadler was born in New York, New York. Nadler graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 1965. He earned a B.A. from Columbia University in 1969 and a J.D. from Fordham University in 1978. Nadler's career experience includes working as a legislative assistant.
