Aiming to broaden access, Kairuki urges Halotel’s Halopesa to bring the Fiber to the Home initiative to more communities. During a visit to Halotel’s headquarters, the Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Angellah Kairuki, encouraged the company to extend its services to regions still without connectivity, emphasizing the government’s commitment to advancing digital development and urging Halotel to align ongoing investments with this national vision.
Kairuki also reminded Halotel of its duty to adhere to all applicable laws and regulatory requirements, noting that, as a government-backed entity, the company must safeguard national interests and protect its customers. She highlighted the importance of public education on the safe and responsible use of digital technologies and urged continued emphasis on the Fiber to the Home program, paired with rapid expansion of the country’s telecommunications infrastructure, including 4G and 5G.
She added that the government will persist in fostering a favorable, business-friendly climate to attract investment and ensure that both businesses and Tanzanian citizens reap the benefits of growth.
